This is the roadmap for gPodder. Please discuss on the Mailing List, but don't change anything without asking. Of course, if you have a good patch for any of the features listed below, they might be included earlier than planned :)

We are always looking for volunteers helping us reach our release goals!

This is a new release series with new features from the development repository. Highlights include:

  • Sortable columns in episode selector (bug:146) + Episode sorting is wrong (bug:161)
  • Show total download speed when downloading (bug:139)
  • Show descriptions in the episode selector dialog (bug:127)
  • Integrate Google Video Search as feed source (bug:11)
  • GUI freezes while downloading feed on "Add podcast" (bug:114)
  • MTP device support (bug:9)
  • Threaded Feed Updater (bug:153)
  • Add success message dialog on OPML file export
  • Better confirmation dialog when deleting episodes from device
  • Fix problem when updating feed cache on startup (bug:183)
  • Fix for the database threading issue (bug:185)

This will be a bugfix release in the 0.13.x series. The items will appear here when the release is done. We are currently assembling this release in the gpodder-0.13.1 branch in our Git repository: Git shortlog for gpodder-0.13.1

  • Handle HTML and OPML content when adding feed URLs (info / opml lister)
  • "Select played episodes" command button in "delete old episodes" selector
  • When adding a podcast, display all available episodes, but only select the newest one
  • Add "used disk space" to channel info dialog
  • Channel info dialog accessible via right-click context menu
  • Drag'n'drop episodes from gpodder to filesystem
  • Descriptions for configuration options in advanced config editor
  • Add download limiting + throttling to preferences dialog again
