gPodder is an open source project and there are still some parts of gPodder that can be improved. You do not need to be a programmer to be able to contribute to gPodder, there are other aspects which a programmer doesn't like to do, but which a user can actually do better than the programmer..

If you can't or don't want to contribute code, translations or documentation, please have a look at the donation page for other ways how you can show your support for the project.

[edit] Python code

gPodder is written in Python. Python is a powerful language, but still it is not hard to code in Python if you've coded before. Get in touch with the gPodder developer mailing list if you want to get started on coding on gPodder or to send in patches. You can also visit our IRC channel (#gpodder on irc.freenode.net or use the Web-based chat client) and ask for help there.

If you don't have anything specific in mind, search for unassigned tasks at bugs.gpodder.org and discuss the implementation there.

See Running gPodder from Git on how to get the source code.

[edit] Translations

Translate gPodder into your language. See Translations.

[edit] Documentation

At the moment, there is not much user documentation for gPodder. If you are willing to help, this is probably the easiest way to start getting involved. Just download gPodder, and go to the User Manual Wiki page and start enhancing and improving it! (Please make sure to have the latest version of gPodder, so that your documentation doesn't contain outdated/invalid information.)

Please contribute documentation directly to the User Manual.
